At-Home Test FAQ's: Certain at-home COVID test manufacturers have requested an expiration date extension from the FDA. So what does that mean and how does it affect you? Check out the Q&A:
-
Q: Do COVID tests expire?
-
A: Every brand of at-home COVID test is given an expiration date based on results of something called "stability testing", done by the manufacturer. It essentially tells us how long the test will perform accurately.
-
Q: My at-home COVID test reached its expiration date. Can I still use it?
-
A: It depends. Several testing manufacturers received expiration date extensions. The more tests are made, the more companies learn about how long they last. Using that data, they can request extensions from the FDA. Learn more about expiration dates and find out when your test expires.
